Possibility of holiday for schools:

Holidays were declared for schools and Anganwadi centers last week in some districts including Dharwad, Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, and Kodagu. If the rainfall increases in the coming days, there is a possibility that school holidays will be declared again.

The main reasons behind this rain are:

  • Bay of Bengal Cyclone : Moving at a height of 0.9 km over northwest Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha.

  • Air pressure drop : Located at a height of 5.8 km over southwest Telangana, north Karnataka, and Rayalaseema regions.

  • Low pressure area from central Arabian Sea : Moving over north interior Karnataka at a height of 3.1 km.

Due to all these reasons, monsoon rains are pouring heavily in most parts of the state.

Notice to the public:

  • Avoid unnecessary travel during the rainy season.

  • Those in flood-prone areas should take precautions.

  • Please check local notifications before sending children to school.
